WYSIWYG Definition

What You See Is What You Get. Acronym referring to what you see on your screen is what you will get in printout.

Most programs currently use WYSIWYG to allow the end-user to see how their output will look. For example, Microsoft Word, Macromedia Dreamweaver, and Adobe Pagemaker all use WYSIWYG to show you how things will print or be displayed in other medium such as the Internet.
