An {IBM} graphics {display standard} supporting a {resolution} of 1024 x 768 {pixels} with 256 colours at 43.5 Hz ({interlaced}), or 640 x 480 at 60 Hz interlaced. 8514 was introduced at the same time as {VGA} and was superseded by {XGA}. (1999-08-01)
